Principal Investigators/Project Directors

 

Dr. Harlan U. Andersonis a Curators Professor of Ceramic Engineering, Senior Investigator in the Graduate Center for Material Research, and the Director of Electronic Materials Applied Research Center. His research interest and long term involvement in both insulating and conducting oxides has lead to his recognition as one of the leading authorities on ceramic capacitors and high temperature conducting oxides.

Dr. James Stofferis Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Graduate Center for Materials Research. His experience includes the teaching of paint short courses at Rolla for over 20 years, at the National Paint Show, and at the American Chemical Society meeting each year for the last five years.

Dr. Wayne Huebneris a Professor and the Chair of the Ceramic Engineering Department, and a Senior Investigator of the Materials Research Center at Missouri S&T. His research interests include the preparation and characterization of electronic ceramics, in particular conducting oxides, dielectrics, piezoelectrics, and electrostrictive materials.

Dr. Tony Flaimis an adjunct professor in Chemistry and is the president of Flaim Research Services. He is the Technology Coordinator at Brewer Science, Inc. in Rolla, Missouri and was a Senior Research Chemist at Dow Chemical. His expertise lies in the areas of microelectronics and the commercialization of high risk chemical technologies.

Nonstoichiometry of oxides; sintering behavior of oxides and metals; electrical degradation of dielectrics; methods of preparing high purity oxides from organometallics; titanates for use as capacitors and resistors; corrosion of ceramics; perovskites and spinels for use as high temperature electrodes, insulators and catalysts; multilayer substrates and capacitors; preparation of thin film oxides.
